What is modest?
When we hear the word modest what come to mind? It's oppressions, not fashionable, and old lady garments.
So, what is the true meaning of modest? A woman who is dressing or behaving to avoid impropriety or indecency, especially to avoid attracting sexual attention.
Today society celebrity, social media, magazine, commercial and fashion industry promote sexy or sexiness sales. If you dress sexy. You will get more attraction. More likes in your Facebook and Instagram page or any other social media. In reality, it is causing more harm to women in spirituality, mentality and physically. In the book of Proverb, "for a whore is deep ditch, and a strange woman is a narrow pit. She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and incrreaseth the transgressors among man." Enough is enough. Women do not have to conform to sexualization. According to Jamie Swift and Hannah Gould, " A report by the American Psychological Association (APA) on the sexualization of girls in the media found that girls are depicted in a sexual manner more often than boys; dressed in revealing clothing, and with bodily postures or facial expressions that imply sexual readiness. In a study of print media, researchers at Wesleyan University found that on average, across 58 different magazines, 51.8 percent of advertisements that featured women portrayed them as sex objects." A woman who dresses and acts provocatively are the one feeling inadequate. There is nothing wrong dressing modest. You are telling yourself and others you respect yourself. That you are not bound to society way of thinking. Tell yourself, "I love who I am, and I am fearfully and wonderfully made by God."
